Iconic artists of the early and mid 20th century made the south of France their home. Paul Cezanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Paul Signac, Pierre Bonnard, Fernand Leger, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse and even the avant-garde poet, Jean Cocteau all gravitated here attracted by its scenic landscapes and attractive light. We travel from Arles by the Rhne, to the birthplace of modern art in Aix-en-Provence, to the cities of Antibes, Nice and Cagnes-sur-Mer, and along the sublime Riviera coastline to Menton by the Border with Italy.
