Iconic artists of the early and mid 20th century made the south of France their home. Paul C zanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Paul Signac, Pierre Bonnard, Fernand L ger, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse and even the avant-garde poet, Jean Cocteau all gravitated here attracted by its scenic landscapes and attractive light. We travel from Arles by the Rh ne, to the birthplace of modern art in Aix-en-Provence, to the cities of Antibes, Nice and Cagnes-sur-Mer, and along the sublime Riviera coastline to Menton by the Border with Italy.
